Why Do We Need to Expand?

These architectural renderings offer a visual preview of the Phase Two expansion. The new addition aligns with the existing building structure, while introducing modern, accessible features for our growing student body.

Why Now?

Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School has become a beacon of excellence in faith-based education across Southeast Iowa. Since opening our new facility in the 2019–2020 school year, the response from families has been extraordinary, so much so that our school has quickly reached full capacity.

What began as a space for 210 students has grown to accommodate 309, a 47% increase in just five years. Our classrooms are full, and families are waiting to join our vibrant Catholic community.

Phase Two of our expansion will allow us to grow further, with the capacity to serve 402 students an 91% increase from our starting point. This growth reflects not only rising demand, but also our commitment to providing high-quality Catholic education to every child we can.

This is more than just a numbers story. It’s a clear sign: the time is now to build for the future.

Included in the Expansion

  • New elementary classrooms to reduce overcrowding and allow for future growth.

  • Dedicated early childhood spaces for preschool, Pre-K, and daycare. (Currently, this program is housed at the Wagner building.)

  • A separate before- and after-school care area, freeing up instructional space.

  • Specialized classrooms for music and art are available to the entire campus. (This will free up more classroom spaces.)

  • Improved campus facilities, including a relocated concession stand.

Designed for Growth:
Functional Learning Spaces

Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School’s Phase Two expansion is guided by a clear mission: to create spaces that enhance both learning and community. Every new room and renovated space has been thoughtfully designed to meet the developmental, academic, and spiritual needs of our students.

The plan includes:

  • Flexible elementary classrooms that adapt to changing enrollment and educational methods.

  • Early childhood education areas designed for safety, creativity, and exploration.

  • Dedicated rooms for music and art  ensuring every student has a chance to discover and develop their talents.

  • A redesigned layout that separates care programs (before- and after-school) from academic spaces to enhance focus.

  • Improved site flow, including better access for families and optimized facility usage.

These new and improved spaces will not only address today’s challenges but also position Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School for decades of faithful service to the children and families of our region.

Phase Two Capital
Campaign Overview

The Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School Project enters its second phase with a bold and faithful vision to raise up to $7 million to expand our school and meet the growing needs of our faith-based community. Building on the momentum of our original success, this Capital Campaign will allow us to serve more families, expand educational offerings, and enhance the spaces where our students learn, grow, and worship.

The project is planned to break ground in 2026, with completion targeted for 2027. Construction will begin once 60% of the fundraising goal is reached.

Funds raised during the campaign will support the following key priorities:

  • Construction of new classrooms to support growth and reduce overcrowding

  • Expansion of early childhood and pre-K spaces

  • Dedicated art and music rooms for creative development

  • Site preparation, utilities, and essential infrastructure

  • Furnishing and equipment for new spaces

  • Contingency and soft costs for design, permits, and administration

The support of all parishes is crucial to get this campaign off to a great start, just as it did in the previous campaign. Your early support will demonstrate that we have a strong foundation, adding integrity, unity, and credibility to this effort. We need you, our faith community to stand with us once again.
